SchoolTipline founder, Justin Bergener, gathered together the best and brightest to build this new and exciting school communication company. Let’s face it, no one likes being bullied and now we’re providing the technology that’s going to help stop it! We’ve banded together to empower administrators with important information-sharing abilities and to allow students to safely rat out trouble makers and still be cool. We are passionate about applying technology in ways that solve social problems, make school life simpler, and put comfortable communication and wise counsel in the hands of all students.

Justin Bergener, Founder & CEO

Prior to founding SchoolTipline, Justin spent the last few years with several startups such as Junto Partners, a local business incubator, which gave Justin the opportunity to work closely with seasoned mentors in all areas of business ventures. Justin also worked as a real estate specialist for five years in Salt Lake and Utah counties. Justin received his B.A. from Brigham Young University in Sociology and a minor in business.

Mrigesh Rajbhandari (Mickey), CTO

Mickey is the lead developer for SchoolTipline.com. His experience has come from working with some of Utah’s fastest going companies. Since 2000, Mickey has gained extensive experience in application and information architecture, data schemes, and social Web applications. Mickey earned his B.S. in Information Technology from Brigham Young University.

Ken King, Director of Sales

Kyle Aldous, Director of Public Relations

Kyle is from Houston, Texas and is an avid Houston Rockets fan. He has lived overseas several times, both in Singapore and England. Kyle graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Communications with a Public Relations emphasis. He enjoys breakdancing and teaches it at several local dance studios.

Emily is a Kansas native who recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a B.A. in Communications. She enjoys photography, Spanish, ultimate frisbee and spending time with her family and friends. Someday she hopes to visit every continent, learn another language and most importantly, watch the Kansas City Royals win the World Series.

Jorge Torres, Account Executive

Jorge is comes from Chihuahua, Mexico and graduated recently from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Communications with a Public Relations emphasis and a business management minor. He enjoys golf, soccer and tennis. While living in Utah he has developed a love for mountain biking around the many scenic trails in the area.

Dr. Jack Levin - Dr. Levin, Northeastern University, is an expert in criminology, prejustice, and social psychology. He has authored and co-authored 28 books and 150 articles including “Warning Signs to School Shooter,” “The Hard (but Doable) Job of Making Schools Safe,” and “Reducing the Threat of Bullying.” http://www.jacklevinonviolence.com/

Dr. Betty Ashbaker - Dr. Ashbaker is a leading researcher on education curriculum, school harassment, and special education. She has co-authored more than 40 articles and five books on school safety. Dr. Ashbaker is a professor for the McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University and is the principal investigator on bullying and anonymous reporting research.

Ty Mattingly - Ty brings valuable experience for SchoolTipline to meet its goals for growth. In particular, Mattingly brings demonstrated success in building partnerships and the ability to work agreements that are beneficial to all parties.

Mattingly has a proven track record with many of Utah’s most successful technology companies as an investor in his current position; as managing director of Primary Colors, a private equity firm; and as an angel investor for the past 10 years for technology companies such as Omniture. As a co-founder of SBI-Razorfish and Novonyx, he led both companies to successful acquisitions. At SBI he helped establish the company as the leading interactive marketing firm in the country, which has ultimately acquired more than $6 billion to become the foundation for Microsoft’s interactive marketing and advertising initiatives; and Novonyx, a joint venture between Netscape and Novell, was acquired by Novell. Mattingly also served in a number of executive positions at Novell, where he worked directly with Ray Noorda and Bob Frankenberg in managing the company.

Brenda High - Brenda is a passionate crusader, a mom on a mission to stop school bullying and peer abuse. It is not uncommon to see Brenda writing e-mails or talking on the phone about bullying as well as advising parents, students, teachers, state and federal lawmakers, media, and community members about the emotional and physical dangers of bullying, which can lead to bullycide (a suicide attributed to bullying).
